New initiatives under the Budget 2024: Training and attractive incentives for employers, informal sector workers, and MYSTEP personnel. It’s all about inclusive employment and skill growth, making Malaysia’s job scene more competitive.

A new initiative under Budget 2024, providing financial incentives to employers who employs individuals from vulnerable groups PWD / Return To Work participants, ex-convicts or retirees aged 60 years old and above.
This initiative aims to ensure informal workers can access career development and micro-credential training programmes that will help to improve labour market efficiency by equipping informal workers with skills required to secure formal employment. Financing of training fees up to RM4,000 subject to the cerfitication category.
Malaysia Short-Term Employment Program (MYSTEP) is a government initiative that expands its recruitment focus to include targeted groups by providing employment opportunities and upskilling in the public sector and Government Linked Companies (GLC).

• PWDs / PERKESO Return-to-Work (RTW) Programme participants who have an impairment rating of at least 20% as determined by PERKESO
• Parolees / Ex-convicts released under the OBB programme / Former Henry Gurney School inmates
• Senior citizens / Retirees aged 60 and above
